ARGH!!!!!!

Does anyone else wonder where the Federal government is going to come up with the billions of dollars Blanco and others are asking for the recovery of their states?

To say pullout of Iraq is a cheapshot and not the answer.... The Federal governement is supposed to be there doing that.... It is its job.

But is it the job of the federal government to pay the local police their salaries? as well as pay these places the costs they have spent on Katrina and now Rita? Is it the jon of the fed to do this? I do not believe so.... and I say this as a guy who could have his whole community destroyed in a earthquake..... I believe it is the local and state responsibility to rebuild and pay their own way.....

It's really simple: As stated by BILL ADAIR, St. Petersburg Times Washington Bureau Chief, "Another way to pay Katrina's costs is to repeal some or all of the tax cuts Congress approved in 2001 and 2003. They will cost about $225-billion this year, so repealing them for a single year might cover the entire cost of the hurricane."

P.S. When the next quake hits California, don't be asking the government for a single cent, you know you live in an area prone to earth quakes - so move away or pay your own way....

The only thing the Federal governme t should do is make available low interest loans.... besides that I don't want anything else from the government.... So yes, I would pay my own way.... Problem is that the governement is so loose with its money.... AKA our money.
