Life in New Orleans after Katrina and Rita.

I just heard on Fox News that good all Shep Smith has counted about a dozen structures in Bernard Parish that can be saved. I am concerned that we have a future Time bomb that will be created in the years to come. The flooding has lead to mold, which will probably never be effectively removed from a structure unless the structure is torn down....

Will the City Officials of New Orleans have the backbone to condemn the building that should be condemned due to mold, or will they flinch and allow Property owners to make their own assessment and chose to live in Moldy homes and businesses. Perhaps the fear of lawsuits on the other end, after people get sick from the mold they will be able to pull the trigger and bulldoze these houses and businesses....

Question is who will they expect to pay for the rebuilding? I hope they revert back to Low interest loans only....

I think they should announce that everyone has 1 week to get back into their old neighborhood and get any belongings they can get before they plow it over. Clean up the Debris; create a top of the line levee system. Then leave it up to insurance, low interest loans and private companies to rebuild.
