Home heating oil

The MSM always writes pieces like this. I guess it is to alarm everyone and feel sorry for people.... Cost go up, so what should you do? Maximize your $'s buying power? use more blankets instead of turning on the heater? No.... Apply for more govt. Help. Check this out... Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).....
The Federal Government began providing energy assistance in Federal Fiscal Year
(FFY) 1974
.
Wow, so we have been throwing away money since 1974 in this program. Going back to the first article.....
"We have never had prices so high and increase so quickly," said Mark Wolfe, executive director of the National Energy Assistance Directors Association, which represents the state agencies that distribute money to help low-income families pay their fuel bills. This winter, Wolfe expects more than a million additional applicants for the government program, a 20 percent increase over last year, with not enough money to go around. Congress provided $2.2 billion for the program, known as LIHEAP, last year. Wolfe said $5.1 billion is needed to keep pace this coming winter with the soaring energy costs and expanded demand.
Wow, $2.2 Billion dollars, and he wants $5.1 billion. Prior to 1974 we spent zero..... and now we spend BILLIONS.

I know, it seems heartless of me doesnt it... after all only those who actually need help would apply for it and get it right? These people would DIE if it wasnt for the assistance. This program came out of the oil shortage of the 70's.... Pure socialist nonsense.....

What would have happened to the people who could not pay their heating bills? Would they have all died? I don't think so.... instead I am sure we have a whole generation of poor people depending on this program..... They live according to their personal income as well as their federal subsidies and do not know how to budget to provide for themselves.....

Mr wolfe... Your program needs to be canceled.... Not increased. Perhaps a slow reduction over a few years, but this program needs to end. It will force personal responsibility....
