It just amazes me how people have such a distorted view of reality, and/or how they must demonize the people they do not agree with.

Today I turned 45. Nothing special happened, and that is alright. I am very lucky to have my beautiful wife and family. Today though, I want to talk about fairness. I am a political animal, and often I am labeled a hateful person. Many on the political left make me, and people who think like me to be greedy, selfish individuals. While it pains me to hear or see them call me that in print or in person I must learn to brush off such talk, as I know it is nonsense. Early in life my mother told me I was a Libra, and therefore I had certain traits... The sign of Libra is the scales - and that Libra's are big on fairness. I do not know about the value of astrology - Am I all about fairness because I am a :Libra, or did I tell myself to be about fairness because someone wrote it was a trait of mine? A first glance many on the left would laugh about what I just said, as I am opposed to welfare and other governmental handouts, "where is the fairness in that"!! In reality, I am all about personal responsibility and fairness - on the individual level.

A case in point that drives me nuts. Have you ever noticed the amount of shopping carts littering our streets? We all know how they got there, someone took the shopping cart out of the shopping center and most of the time took their groceries home, then pushed the cart back out into a "common" area. Who picks them up and returns them to the grocery store? I asked my local store, and the manager there pays $3 a cart when someone brings them back, and says there is a man she deals with who brings them back by the truckload sometimes several times in a day. While this man makes a good living driving all over town picking up shopping carts where is the fairness, the justice in this situation? How is it fair that the store has to pay for the return of their own property, that was stolen from them? Some cities will pick up these carts and return them free of charge to the stores, but then the city taxpayers have to foot the bill. I have seen where cities spent over $80,000 a year to have this done. Some cities do a combination of the two, having the stores pay some part for the return of their carts. I am sure all these costs get passed on to the consumers...

The real villains in this story are easy to spot, but society often turns a blind eye to it because they are poor. We as a society need to hold all of us to account for our actions. If a policeman sees a person leaving a shopping parking lot with a cart he should stop them. Warnings, citations, tickets should be issued. I suggest that the onus be put on the person taking the cart. If they are honorable they can talk to a store manager and get permission to take the cart home, as long as they bring it back, or even if they are willing to pay $3 to not have to bring it back. Then if the person is stopped by police he can show his "permission slip" for taking the cart home on that day. I know the chances of this happening are slim to none, but I hope this shows you how I look at things. I do not blame the poor for taking the carts, but I do blame them for not returning them. Why is it someone elses job to return the cart?

i am so sick of Obamas class warfare approach to politics. OBAMA, I want the federal government to be smaller!!!! Dont tell me how the rich people can pay more,.... You live with the revenue you have!!!! move out of the way of these rich people and they will create jobs outside of government!!!!!

I had several likes, and then a few people willing to put forward a different view... keep in mind I do not have alot of friends on facebook, so the sample will always be small. Yet some of the points were interesting, here in an example -

"Thanks for stoking the class warfare to even higher heights, Gary (um, I am not Gary, thats my brother). Please provide any actual statistics on how rich people create jobs, and government doesn't. It is just more voodoo economics from the right, since we all should know by now that cutting taxes leads to diminished opportunities and increased debt. And Lisa, your descendents were once "illegals" as you like to call real people. My head hurts thinking about the ignorance both you and Gary(please call me Thom or Kirbside) pulsate out to the general public."

I left off the wacko's name because I believing in protecting the silly. Can you see the bleeding heart liberalism just oozing from his every pore?

Cutting taxes leads to diminished opportunities? To increased debt? How about the debt is only increased when you decide to spend more than you make? (tax) The situation right now is a perfect example of why big government is such a danger to our society. Every private sector company has taken steps to lower its costs in the last few years... many have laid off people and either tooled back, or cancelled many programs, production lines, etc in this economic downturn. Yet Government is growing and wants to continue to grow. Its tax revenues have dropped drastically... Because of tax cuts, or because there is less production? The answer of course is because there is less taxable things happening... That is why they are looking to tax sugary foods and sodas... Looking to increase and add fee's to everything. Government should have shrunk like the private sector did when the economy tanked... that is how you live within your means!

He then mentions illegals and you can infer that he is an open borders nutjob... "our people were once illegal to" Friedman makes the case for why immigration now is different then when our ancestors came....

sadly illegals have found a work around on welfare... have babies and they get the benefits of our welfare society through them....

anyway, back to my facebook post... Obama is a class warfare expert and finger pointer... Tax the rich, and it wasnt his fault, Bush did it.... and now the Tea party did it... Shame on us for electing such a empty suit.

Everyone is looking at her full speech and are saying she is showing how she transformed from a racist, to a advocate for the poor of all colors. Perhaps that is true, but I have my reservations. My reservations are still valid after I have watched the entire speech.

Below is a transcript of some of her speech. The bold type is what was on the big Government video. look at the section where she talks about how the she knew the farmer was a racist. She knows he is racist because he is "showing his superiority".

How about Sherrod is showing her continued racist ideas about whites more than 20 years after the event? That's when it was revealed to me that y'all, it's about poor versus those who have, and not so much about white -- it is about white and black, but it's not -- you know, it opened my eyes, 'cause I took him to one of his own and I put him in his hands, and said, OK, I've done my job. But, during that time, we would have these injunctions against the Department of Agriculture and -- so, they couldn't foreclose on him. And I want you to know that the county supervisor had done something to him that I have not seen yet that they've done to any other farmer, black or white. And what they did to him caused him to not be able to file Chapter 12 bankruptcy.

The added information sends us to Santee H.S. in the LAUSD. 93 percent Latino. This guy is Ron Gochez, and is listed as "School of Public Service and Social Justice faculty member." What? Do you remember having a Social justice teacher in High School? This guy is teaching this hate in our public school system!!! Listen to that video again!!! Right at the start he thanks someone who just spoke, a STUDENT of his!!!!

There he goes, whitewashing the unethical. In his post Strange Hypocrisy he sees nothing wrong with the powers "that be" changing the rules whenever it suits them.

In 2004, Massachusetts changed its laws to prevent Republican Mitt Romney from appointing John Kerry’s replacement in case he became President. Now it’s 2009, the Governor of Massachusetts is a Democrat, and Ted Kennedy is dead so the state legislature is considering changing the rule back so that Deval Patrick can appoint an interim Senator to serve in Kennedy’s place.

This is being described in some quarters as “hypocritical,” which really strikes me as silly.

Probably there should be a uniform national system for filling senate vacancies. But instead, we leave it up to state legislatures. Given that legislatures have been granted this discretion, it would be perverse of them to refuse to actually use it when doing so is crucial to advancing what their constituents want.

I wonder who he thinks "we" are? Oh but come on... The people have spoken, we all know they want what the Democrats want!!! In this case the Constitution gives each state the right to create it's own system... So go ahead and abuse that power. I assume he is right though, in that the people of Massachusetts wont give a rats ass about how unethical this is. They wont be turned off by their politicians as long as they keep scamming to stay in power... Ethics are for losers!

William A. Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection has a post about the Supreme Court' Ricci decision. When I think of the case all I could think of was how our society was going to let reverse discrimination stand. It was going to be OK to deny whites something merely because another race's applicants for a promotion couldn't pass muster.

Whenever a Liberal sees a minority not pass muster the liberal assumes bias in the examination. So we have to jump through hoops to prove the opposite. That in itself is discrimination!!!

Perhaps this will led to the end of quotas.

I cannot believe this story.....

HAMILTON — A critically-ill premature-born baby from Hamilton is all alone in a Buffalo, N.Y., hospital after she was turned away for treatment at local facility and transferred across the border without her parents, who don't have passports.

Ava Stinson was born Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital, 14 weeks premature.

A provincewide search for an open neonatal intensive care unit bed came up empty, leaving no choice but to send the two pound, four ounce baby to Buffalo.

Now let's think this through. Hamilton has a population of 750,000... But has no open neonatal bed... Hamilton is over 70 miles from Buffalo... But just over 40 miles from toronto. Toronto has a population of 2.5 million, but no open bed... The greater Toronto area is 25 percent of the total population of Canada, but no open bed....

Yet Buffalo did. Buffalo is the first major city you get to coming out of Canada from Hamilton. They didn't have to fly into the heart of America to get the care, they just had to cross the border.

Yet people still want that system here...

Seems like a lot of people are trying to define conservatism. Robert Stacy McCain has been talking a lot about a recent discussion here and here. I really do not give a rats ass about much of the discussion... I agree with RSM that a lot of this is mere elitism.

To paraphrase Forest Gump. "I am not a smart man... But I know what conservatism is."

I think we need to push back against these elitists. I often tire of the threads in which I can tell people are looking for the most complex way of saying the most simple of concepts. Elitists write in such a way as to sneer at the masses who haven't read up on a certain person.

We need to remind ourselves that we must not exclude those who believe in conservatism because it is who they are, not what they read.

So some where asking for Letterman to be fired. They started campaigns and were gaining strength to fight CBS... Then Letterman sorta makes his apology, and many of the movement are packing up and accepting the apology as the end of the issue.

This is just another example of how us conservatives are too fuckin nice. We play by the "rules" even if the opposition uses this against us. "well, he said he was sorry. let's go home."

I love fancast.com and Hulu.com, along with many of the Network sites... WB, CBS, NBC, and FOX online see my IP address all the time.

I am watching shows I would never have seen if it wasn't for these sites due to my work schedule. Some would say... Get a DVR, use it. Well Fuckface I have TWO DVR's. Ignore the fact that my wife and daughter Bogart the DVR time... A DVR cant introduce you to a show you haven't heard of yet. These site can.

I watched The mentalist when it first came out... Why? Because it was on CBS.com, but they pulled the show off the site and now just show highlights. Well, fuck em. I no longer watch that show. Same for Eleventh hour.

I can even live with the ABC video player.. (Bastards) They run commercials just like everyone else... But they also make you hit continue when the commercial is over to get back to the show.... (note to self, look to get some kinda remote!!!)

The net and the mainstream TV can co-exist and both be revenue generators. With the net system being very accurate in counting viewing "places". Advertisers can be charged based on the internet traffic watching.... Hell, tell it it will be 5 cents a viewer!!!!

A few months back I frinally got myself a cellphone.... Normally, if its new technology, I have it... Hell, I still have the first Sony walkman CD player.... I was cool like that!!! Yet, I stayed away from cellphones.... anyway, moving along, I got the Blackberry Storm... I then added Googles Latitude which can track where your cellphone is.... Then went on a trip to Florida without the wife... Get your head out of the gutter... If you read my blog then you know I took my two kids with me. Well, day 3 I let the cellphone go dead and the wife started freakin out because i didnt call her... OK, I admit it... I soooo enjoyed that moment. The last place it showed was a Hotel in florida city... She actually had my Mother call all the hotels to try and find us... They found the hotel we were last at, but we had checked out that morning...

Later that day we stopped at a wendy's at Fort Myers Beach. I plugged in the cellphone to charge it... After eating we returned to the car and I called home... No answer... So I called my parents... Mom filled me in on their investigation and how my wife was worried... I then called my wife again and she answered this time.... She also logged on to see where we were in real time. This is the moment I am so glad that my kids were with me...

"What are you doing at that house?"
"We are in the parking lot of a Wendy's"
"No, you are at a house, I can see you"

Light bulbs.... My wife is always one to take a deal and run with it... somewhere in her daily life someone was pushing compact fluorescent bulbs and GAVE her a bunch. Fine... As shown in that link the wackos are finding their new bulbs to be whack!! Yet, if it is free to me all I am for it!!! She mentioned we should switch out the old for the new because they would save energy. I explained while that was true the old bulbs were brighter and I already paid for them... Even though it is true that we would save some money in the switch, what are we supposed to do with the still useable old bulbs??? So we have them as replacement bulbs.... Don't worry wackos we do not have many bulbs in our house as it is...

Here is my biggest problem... They want us to recycle them when we dispose of them... I say go back to the fucking drawing board and come up with something that doesnt need to be recycled unless that just means you put it in the blue trash can instead of the black trash can. The environitwits might have the time to sort their trash and hoard broken shit to be taken to a "green day pickup day" but i do not.... and do they really think that the majority of Americans will sort and keep their broken CFL's? Hell I have broken several of these bastards myself already... I know there is mecury in them so I was careful on the cleanup.... but how many Americans will be doing the same? They are forcing a dangerous item into the American household!!!

I've been using CF bulbs for years. I've never had one fail to work or burn out prematurely. In fact, I've bought them on sale (4 for a dollar) and the problem I have is that I've got a bunch of them sitting on a shelf because the current ones haven't burnt out. Based on my experience, therefore, CF bulbs are infallible.

You just happen to be perfect while I suck... So in my suckness when i break a standard bulb I just sweep it up.... When i break a CFL I need to evacuate the area!!!! Being that there are more idiots like me, and not perfect like you... Shouldnt we reconsider the CFL's?

Let me set the scene... Yesterday I awoke around 1pm after having a short nap ( I work the night shift) to hear a movie start in the living room... My children are gone so my wife has rented a video just for us (just for her!) So I stumble out half awake and sit down on the couch to see what the movie is about. I do not ask what the movie is, because I know that will just lead to a verbal dance...

"what movie did you get?"

"Guess"

So instead I sit through the previews that come on automatically.,.. Not looking good. Because it is all stupid previews I do not remember all of them, But two stand out, and should give me pause about the movie she rented. Religulous and Control Room. Just before the movie comes on.... Wife says;

Meaning the movie is going to be a idiot left wing nutjob atacking what you hold near and dear to your heart. Go to the computer room were you will be happy.

You would think that the primary breadwinner, and the person most likely to go postal in a household, would being able to set the DVR to record shows he wants to watch and feel safe enough to trust them to be there when he looked for them.

Silly me.

I have two, count them, two DVR's. One in the family room, and one in the master bedroom. Yet If I try to record a show I often find that the recording was canceled... Sorry dad, but I want to watch another show while I record another show I want to watch... so I canceled yours... Wife does the same thing.

So now I don't watch much TV... instead I watch the shows through the net... on either the network channels or something like Fancast.com or hulu.com...

So if your a big TV exec... put your full episodes on the net... I will watch them... and the way they are set up on the net you can upsale the commercials as I must watch them to move on in the episode!!!

He also posts about Rachel Lucas post about her trouble with BT. I lived in the UK in the 60's (infant), 70's (3rd to 6th grade) and 80's (8th to 12th grade, plus a little college). What Rachel points out all of us Air Force brats already knew.

I will add Rachel to my blogs I read, and I hope to find her discoverying all the many joys of a socialist, dying society.

I wonder, has she discovered the joy of having to pay for packs of ketchup at a Mcdonalds, or even a fish and chips? My wife was a little surprised when she asked for a couple of packets while at a fish and chips shop in Needham Market. Lucky enough for me the counterperson also will use the industrial sized dispenser to serve you for free.... But its behind the counter and inferred you only get so much... Compared to us in the United States where if your frugal minded enough you would never have to buy condiments for your house... Just go to fast food places and help yourself!!!

It is a scary time for those of us who fear socialism. The opposition is in charge, and has the numbers to push their agenda. We must speak up, we must make ourselves heard on the issues we hold sacred.

The Obama administration appears determined to bring universal healthcare to the United States... despite the many examples of the failure of such systems around the world.

Just this week British PM Gordon Brown apoligised over the standard of care at Stafford general hospital.

A healthcare commission reported that;

between 400 and 1,200 more people died than was expected because of lapses in standards and poor procedures for emergency care.

Keep in mind that this is 400 to 1200 MORE people than was expected. The British system has a way of letting a lot of people die... They determine the cost to keep someone alive is too high and they let them die... So this report is over and above that disgusting number!!! This report says that up to 1200 people died that they meant to save after setting a price tag on life.

Now the left would argue what is needed is more money spent on the healthcare system... Yet many of them still know they can never find enough money to fund a universal healthcare system that wouldnt still have to let people die because their care was too expensive.

The left always cries that we do not have universal healthcare in the United States... But I believe our current system is better than those sytems they support.

Most uninsured American's don't have healthcare because they chose not to have healthcare!!! Then those who chose to not have healthcare, and those who cant get it... have a far superior emergency room network they can go to.

Some say Canada's healthcare system led to Natasha Richardson's death. I tend to think it was more of her not seeking immediate care... Yet isnt montreal like the second largest urban area in Canada?

To all of those who love universal healthcare... What do you say to the old? Then ask yourself, which age is determined to be "old".

There is so much snow in Oslo, where I live, that the city authorities are resorting to dumping truckloads of it in the sea because the usual storage sites on land are full.

Come on... Think of what they will say??? My first though was actually not what was said in the article... But I know if i investigate deeper I will find the nitwits who will say it.

My first though was that they would complain that the tossing of snow into the ocean would alter the sat content of the ocean in the region and risk killin off certain marine life.... Instead it is mentioned in the article that the snow was "dirty"

The man, whose bicycle collided with a motorcycle in the western city of Itami, waited at the scene in an ambulance because the hospitals said they could not accept him, citing a lack of specialists, equipment, beds and staff, according to Mitsuhisa Ikemoto.

It was the latest in a string of recent cases in Japan in which patients were denied treatment, underscoring the country's health care woes that include a shortage of doctors.

The man, who suffered head and back injuries, initially showed stable vital signs, but his condition gradually deteriorated. He died from hemorrhagic shock about an hour and half after arriving at the hospital, Ikemoto said.

Ikemoto said the victim might have survived if a hospital would have accepted him more quickly. "I wish hospitals are more willing to take patients, but they have their own reasons, too," he said.

The death prompted the city to issue a directive ordering paramedics to better coordinate with an emergency call center so patients can find a hospital within 15 minutes.

The motorcyclist involved in the Jan. 20 accident was hurt too and was also denied medical care by two hospitals before one accepted him, Ikemoto said. He was recovering from his injuries.

More than 14,000 emergency patients were rejected at least three times by Japanese hospitals before getting treatment in 2007, according to the latest government survey. In the worst case, a woman in her 70s with a breathing problem was rejected 49 times in Tokyo.

Both my Children sat through their entire school day watching the inauguration. This Blogpost is amusing to me. In it he is attacking a school system for asking for permisson for their children to watch the inauguration... He believes that had McCain won that school system would have required class attendance. First, did that sytem even show the last inauguration? How about the one 8 years ago? Now if a case can be made for showing Obama's inauguration to every school kid, surely it could have been made for McCain's, afterall it would have meant the first woman VP. I seriously doubt that my local school system would have carried it then.

Why did my son's Kindergarten class sit the entire day watching this? What did they learn? Sure he knows Barrack Obama's name... but everything else was lost on him.

Found this lovely article from CBS after reading The Lipstick Republican.

Now perhaps I am low class... But $35 bucks isn't a shoestring. Hell I made Dinner last night a lot cheaper than that... My lovely recipe... Not exacting, as thats how to make low class food.

1 handful of spaghetti probably 8 ounces.... (no more than a buck)
1 bottle of ragu or similiar product.... this one spicy italian. (2.50)
1 package of polish kielbasa chopped. (no more than 3 bucks)
1 package of stir fry veggies... various types up to you mix and match... Mexi style veggies are nice. (less than 2.50)

Brown Kielbasa, add veggies, then add sauce.... place on top of cooked spaghetti ...

9 buck meal....

can add garlic bread.... cashews in veggies.... serves 4 with leftovers.

This is from a person who says he is a German, living in Germany. Notice how similiar it is to the Left and their Media cohorts views. It is a parroting of what they say. But let us look at these words more closely.

1. I would be for ending the EIC that many get. The earned income credit makes no sense to me. Let me get this straight... If I have 2 kids, and only earned $11,000 dollars in a year the federal govenment will give me $4700 dollars for all my hard work? So I pay NO income taxes but i get a EIC of $4700? A 42 percent bonus!!!! Boy would I love to get that!!! bleeding hearts would say that the person needs the EIC because they are below the poverty line. My first response to this is where is the person living, how are they living... what choices are they making...

2. I would drill for oil now, start serious plans for nuke power plants... And extend or create new tax incentives for people to invest in new systems for power production. I believe that if you reward a behavior you get more of it, and need to plan for it. The EIC above is an example of rewarding people for making poor choices and making little to no money. Incentives to buy electric cars, solar panels, wind power systems will get people to buy them. Perfect example of having to be careful for what you wish for... California said "buy a hybrid, you get to use the carpool lane even if you drive alone" California had to suspend that program because there were/are to many people who now qualify. But it is working by providing incentives to do the right thing.

We need to reward good behavior, while helping people recover from bad choices... But we cant REWARD them for bad choices.

anyway back to his comments.

Those of us that are conservative in how we run our lives do not ask for a bailout, a rescue. We don't ask for a reward for how we conduct our finances, yet perhaps that is just what should happen.

The behavior you reward is what you get. Reward bad choices, you get more bad choices... Reward good choices and let bad choices suffer gets you a better economy, society...

I propose that the Federal government NOT help those hurting... instead reward those who have a mortgage that is 33% or less of their total income... Who do not have huge credit card debts... Reward those who are responsible for themselves.

Then, as those who made bad choices slowly recover perhaps they will see the light and live their lives responsibly.

OPRAH'S STATEMENT: "The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

yea... I believe ya Oprah... Introduce Obama... Then shut the door on using your show as a platform.... yea, seems unbiased.

There are so many things that the Obama people are doing I can't keep track of them to blog about them... I will try to add them as I remember or see them again.

Here is One.

LIMA, Ohio (AFP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Sunday he will mobilize his vast donor list to send money or volunteer to help with recovery efforts in response to Hurricane Gustav which is bearing down on the Gulf Coast.
"We can activate an email list of a couple million people who want to give back," Obama told reporters after attending church in Lima, Ohio.

What? Your donors are the best you can do? Is this how you wield power? How does he know that his donor list people want to help out? Perhaps they are all like Fowler and Moore and wish the biggest disaster possible so they can claim God (the guy they don't normally like) is causing Gustav to hurt the Republicans?

You would think that Obama would ask all Americans to prepare to help out where they can... Not just "his" people.

I thought he was a uniter, not a divider...
