Some time it is hard to believe....

If I didn't watch the speech this idiot might have gotten away with his blogpost...  But he fails on so many different levels.

Andrew Sullivan sums up the speech last night....

One side was engaged in a civil conversation; the other was engaged in an uncivil protest. The Congress became an unruly town hall meeting - because conservatives made it one.
Anyone who watched the speech must have seen it for what it was, a partisan speech meant to marginalize the conservatives...   From the Whitehouse...  a transcript of the speech at a key moment.

Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost.  The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens.  Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible.  It is a lie, plain and simple.  (Applause.)
There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants.  This, too, is false.  The reforms -- the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.
AUDIENCE MEMBER:  You lie!  (Boos.)

So who called who a liar first?  Moments before Joe Wilson shouted out "you lie" Obama calls the opposition liars.  Now Wilson was wrong to shout out, as it is protocol to remain silent...  Obama is the one who set the tone, that put the loyal opposition on its hackles with partisan attacks.

Is Rush an Asshole?

its
That is the poll question on a facevook poll.  So far two thirds say he is an asshole.  I voted No.  In the comments this lovely individual gives this little comment.  Let me say upfront I do not mind all his misspellings, as I am no one to talk...  I will assume its just quick netspeak that caused all the errors...

Wesley KraaySep 7

i can understand why all the racists and so called religous right people love him because they also think that nobody has the rigt to live unless they agree with what they want. will be intresting to see them explan to god why they were so filled with hate towards any one that they disagreed with. i find it interesting that consertive
will trample all over the rights of anyone they dont like and cry like little babys if everything doesent go their way.its also amazeing that facts only matter to the morons on the right but if you check the facts as reported on fox news its understandable because they dont check the facts. in ther narrow tiny little minds if they lie and preach there hate it must be the truth and all the midless follewers of theres
repeat all the lies and contiue spreading the hate .
What boggles the mind is how do they come up with this stuff?  Group racists with the "so called" religious right...  Then state that they love Rush because they also think no one has the right to live unless they agree with what they want?
WTF?
Is Rush and the religious right pro abortion?  Are they the people who believe in eugenics?  Are they the people who are saying for the other side to "shut up and move out of the way"?
"will trample over the rights of anyone they do not like"
WTF?
Name someone Rush has denied their rights.
also amazeing that facts only matter to the morons on the right but if you check the facts as reported on fox news its understandable because they dont check the facts

What?  So facts do not matter?  Because only the morons on the care about facts?  But then you are a fact checker of the facts on FOXNEWS....

Wow...  Who is the moron?

Yglesias...

There he goes, whitewashing the unethical.  In his post Strange Hypocrisy he sees nothing wrong with the powers "that be" changing the rules whenever it suits them.

In 2004, Massachusetts changed its laws to prevent Republican Mitt Romney from appointing John Kerry’s replacement in case he became President. Now it’s 2009, the Governor of Massachusetts is a Democrat, and Ted Kennedy is dead so the state legislature is considering changing the rule back so that Deval Patrick can appoint an interim Senator to serve in Kennedy’s place.
This is being described in some quarters as “hypocritical,” which really strikes me as silly.
Probably there should be a uniform national system for filling senate vacancies. But instead, we leave it up to state legislatures. Given that legislatures have been granted this discretion, it would be perverse of them to refuse to actually use it when doing so is crucial to advancing what their constituents want.
I wonder who he thinks "we" are?  Oh but come on...  The people have spoken, we all know they want what the Democrats want!!!  In this case the Constitution gives each state the right to create it's own system...  So go ahead and abuse that power.  I assume he is right though, in that the people of Massachusetts wont give a rats ass about how unethical this is. They wont be turned off by their politicians as long as they keep scamming to stay in power...  Ethics are for losers!

Once it is politically expedient Yglesias will be defending the opposite position...

What? I do not believe it!

"(Canadians) have to understand that the system that we have right now - if it keeps on going without change - is not sustainable," said Doig.
Who is Doig you ask?  Only the incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association.

"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.
Yet the Liberal progressives are running towards such a system.  Read the whole article.

miserable failure??? already?

I am getting a kick out of the lefts google bomb campaign against Bush...  Guys like this create a link called miserable failure, link it to the whitehouse website and then leave it.  They get pleasure out of having people get their first result being GWB.  To bad for them their buddies in the whitehouse webpage controlroom didnt realize what they would be doing when they had all those links that used to go to George Bush's Bio now go to Obama's!!!!

I sense that soon a DU campaign will ensue to have the Whitehouse send that link somewhere else....  Or they will go running around trying to get their thousands of Lemmings to change their links.

Even I do not think Obama has proven to be a failure, yet.

More info on this here.

Obama's inauguration

Both my Children sat through their entire school day watching the inauguration.  This Blogpost is amusing to me.  In it he is attacking a school system for asking for permisson for their children to watch the inauguration...  He believes that had McCain won that school system would have required class attendance.  First, did that sytem even show the last inauguration?  How about the one 8 years ago?  Now if a case can be made for showing Obama's inauguration to every school kid, surely it could have been made for McCain's, afterall it would have meant the first woman VP.  I seriously doubt that my local school system would have carried it then.

Why did my son's Kindergarten class sit the entire day watching this?  What did they learn?  Sure he knows Barrack Obama's name...  but everything else was lost on him.

Dear Mr. President

Here's Pink's song, with just a few changes to be a song for Mr Obama now, instead of Bush....

Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions
if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all
the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night
before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror

Are you proud

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has
no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why

Dear Mr. President

Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell

What kind of father would take his
own granddaughter's or Grandson's rights away
And what kind of father might
hate his own Granddaughter if she
were a mistake
I can only imagine what the
first lady has to say

You've come a long way from pot and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has
no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the
bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box

Let me tell you bout hard work

Hard work
Hard work
you don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work

Oh

How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
Would you

The Politics of the Left.... and Europe.

in one of the games I play someone made the following comment.

A lot of people in your Land seem to be whise enough to recognize that there MUST be a change... Your Republicans are much to conservative to change anything, he would have continued the work of Mr. Bush... And be truthful to youself:Noone can really WISH to continue the stupid and selfish work of President Bush... And then the choice of his candidate of the vice-president... Someone who choose HER to be a leader of this great nation can´t be really serious, can he???

This is from a person who says he is a German, living in Germany. Notice how similiar it is to the Left and their Media cohorts views. It is a parroting of what they say. But let us look at these words more closely.

A lot of people in your Land seem to be whise enough to recognize that there MUST be a change...

Gotta love that... MUST be change. Change to what? To Socialism? Cut and run from the wars in Iraq and Afgansistan?

Your Republicans are much to conservative to change anything, he would have continued the work of Mr. Bush...

What? There are ton's of things conservatives such as myself would like to change... Oddly enough I think this writer and the left would not like those changes.

1. I would be for ending the EIC that many get. The earned income credit makes no sense to me. Let me get this straight... If I have 2 kids, and only earned $11,000 dollars in a year the federal govenment will give me $4700 dollars for all my hard work? So I pay NO income taxes but i get a EIC of $4700? A 42 percent bonus!!!! Boy would I love to get that!!! bleeding hearts would say that the person needs the EIC because they are below the poverty line. My first response to this is where is the person living, how are they living... what choices are they making...

2. I would drill for oil now, start serious plans for nuke power plants... And extend or create new tax incentives for people to invest in new systems for power production. I believe that if you reward a behavior you get more of it, and need to plan for it. The EIC above is an example of rewarding people for making poor choices and making little to no money. Incentives to buy electric cars, solar panels, wind power systems will get people to buy them. Perfect example of having to be careful for what you wish for... California said "buy a hybrid, you get to use the carpool lane even if you drive alone" California had to suspend that program because there were/are to many people who now qualify. But it is working by providing incentives to do the right thing.

We need to reward good behavior, while helping people recover from bad choices... But we cant REWARD them for bad choices.

anyway back to his comments.

And be truthful to youself:Noone can really WISH to continue the stupid and selfish work of President Bush...

While I am unhappy with many of the things Republican Congressmen, as well as President Bush have been doing... I do not understand what this person means by stupid and selfish...

And then the choice of his candidate of the vice-president... Someone who choose HER to be a leader of this great nation can´t be really serious, can he???

Obama is great, but Palin? Come on you gotta be kidding me.

Let me end this post for now... with one last comment. German income tax? highest bracket is 45%... thats not including the VAT on goods and services which is another 19%... Yea, I want to listen to someone living in a country like that!!!

EDIT

Whoops let me add one more thing. I have lived outside of the United States. I don't need to here the condescending, baseless arguement that if only Americans got out and saw the rest of the world they would be more like it. Not true.

Update #1

Another person playing that game makes the following comment.

20 years ago you were selling guns to Sadam and you were allies. Wasnt he a
dictator then? The guy on the video lost his leg for Shell Oils company. He just
doesnt know that and this is sad...

Now he is talking about the Video I posted below. This guy appears to be greek. I love how we stray so far away from topics... but I guess it is a tangent we can discuss.

The Iran/Iraq war started in 1980, and ended in 1988... President Reagan sought to keep Iran and Iraq fighting amongst themselves... with no one coming out the victor. Now to say we were allies would be incorrect. But we did deal with both parties. Not the prettiest of situations... I wonder if our greek friend knows what Greece did during the Iran/Iraq war... After all, Saddam is a dictator. As far as the media/left driven idea of war for oil... Where is the oil now? Is it flowing into the United States? Have we confiscated the oil fields? How does the reality on the ground square with the leftist view that we only went in for their oil?

Oh I know... we are getting ready to take it...

At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

yea... I believe ya Oprah... Introduce Obama... Then shut the door on using your show as a platform.... yea, seems unbiased.

I hope those who see through you stop watching...

Obama... Huh?

There are so many things that the Obama people are doing I can't keep track of them to blog about them... I will try to add them as I remember or see them again.

Here is One.

LIMA, Ohio (AFP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Sunday he will mobilize his vast donor list to send money or volunteer to help with recovery efforts in response to Hurricane Gustav which is bearing down on the Gulf Coast.
"We can activate an email list of a couple million people who want to give back," Obama told reporters after attending church in Lima, Ohio.

What? Your donors are the best you can do? Is this how you wield power? How does he know that his donor list people want to help out? Perhaps they are all like Fowler and Moore and wish the biggest disaster possible so they can claim God (the guy they don't normally like) is causing Gustav to hurt the Republicans?

You would think that Obama would ask all Americans to prepare to help out where they can... Not just "his" people.

I thought he was a uniter, not a divider...
