....Are the Children out of the room?

Yes?

Good.

To all the fucking idiots in the TV/Movie industry.  FUCK YOU!

I love fancast.com and Hulu.com, along with many of the Network sites...  WB, CBS, NBC, and FOX online see my IP address all the time.

I am watching shows I would never have seen if it wasn't for these sites due to my work schedule.  Some would say...  Get a DVR, use it.  Well Fuckface I have TWO DVR's.  Ignore the fact that my wife and daughter Bogart the DVR time...  A DVR cant introduce you to a show you haven't heard of yet.  These site can.

I watched The mentalist when it first came out...  Why?  Because it was on CBS.com, but they pulled the show off the site and now just show highlights.  Well, fuck em.  I no longer watch that show.  Same for Eleventh hour.

Now comes this article

In theory, at least, the availability of such shows on Hulu threatens two of the key financial underpinnings of cable TV: DVD sales and carriage fees. Comcast and its brethren pay the cable networks to carry their programming, and the idea that Internet users can watch the same shows online for free is not popular in places like, well, Philadelphia — or at least that corner of it where Comcast is headquartered. Stock analysts aren’t exactly thrilled with the concept, either.
Shortly after removing the Sunny episodes, Hulu took another unpopular step: It shut off access to its programming from Boxee, the fledgling service that enables you to stream online video to your TV set. In a blog posted titled “Doing Hard Things,” Hulu CEO Jason Kilar apologized to users. “Our content providers requested that we turn off access to our content via the Boxee product,” he wrote, “and we are respecting their wishes.”

Hey content providers!!!  Coming after me next?  I have a 32 inch HD LCD TV/monitor...    Time for you to figure out how to piss me off more!!!!

Assholes!  Think for a fucking moment.  Right now if I watch a show on any of these sites I have to watch a commer or two when the normal TV breaks happen in the shows.  Each time I watch that commercial your advertiser knows that at least one person at my IP watched it.  I didn't fast forward it like i could if I was watching using a DVR.  I didn't get up go to the other room and come back when the commercial was over...  I watched the short clip and then continued with my Show.

I can even live with the ABC video player.. (Bastards)  They run commercials just like everyone else...  But they also make you hit continue when the commercial is over to get back to the show.... (note to self, look to get some kinda remote!!!)

The net and the mainstream TV can co-exist and both be revenue generators.  With the net system being very accurate in counting viewing "places".  Advertisers can be charged based on the internet traffic watching....  Hell, tell it it will be 5 cents a viewer!!!!

...google latitude is dangerous.

A few months back I frinally got myself a cellphone.... Normally, if its new technology, I have it... Hell, I still have the first Sony walkman CD player.... I was cool like that!!! Yet, I stayed away from cellphones.... anyway, moving along, I got the Blackberry Storm... I then added Googles Latitude which can track where your cellphone is.... Then went on a trip to Florida without the wife... Get your head out of the gutter... If you read my blog then you know I took my two kids with me. Well, day 3 I let the cellphone go dead and the wife started freakin out because i didnt call her... OK, I admit it... I soooo enjoyed that moment. The last place it showed was a Hotel in florida city... She actually had my Mother call all the hotels to try and find us... They found the hotel we were last at, but we had checked out that morning...

Later that day we stopped at a wendy's at Fort Myers Beach. I plugged in the cellphone to charge it... After eating we returned to the car and I called home... No answer... So I called my parents... Mom filled me in on their investigation and how my wife was worried... I then called my wife again and she answered this time.... She also logged on to see where we were in real time. This is the moment I am so glad that my kids were with me...

"What are you doing at that house?"
"We are in the parking lot of a Wendy's"
"No, you are at a house, I can see you"
"No, remember when i told you it wouldn't be exact?"
"Why does it show you at a house?"
"Yecenia!! (wife's name) we are in the parking lot of a Wendy's"
"Whatever!" she says....

Now imagine if I didn't have my kids with me!!!

I just looked myself up online right now.... lol, it shows me at my nextdoors neighbors house!!!!! Woot!!! More trouble, the wife is away with the kids....

My life...

Let me set the scene... Yesterday I awoke around 1pm after having a short nap ( I work the night shift) to hear a movie start in the living room... My children are gone so my wife has rented a video just for us (just for her!) So I stumble out half awake and sit down on the couch to see what the movie is about. I do not ask what the movie is, because I know that will just lead to a verbal dance...

"what movie did you get?"

"Guess"

"I do not know, come on, what did you get?"

"You wont like it"

So instead I sit through the previews that come on automatically.,.. Not looking good. Because it is all stupid previews I do not remember all of them, But two stand out, and should give me pause about the movie she rented.
Religulous and Control Room. Just before the movie comes on.... Wife says;

"you are not going to like it, go to your room"

Meaning the movie is going to be a idiot left wing nutjob atacking what you hold near and dear to your heart. Go to the computer room were you will be happy.

I stick it out... and then the movie starts...
W. Well she was right. So I stand up and turn to her.

"If the media was fair, we could already make a movie about Obama and all his mistakes, blunders and fuck ups in his less than 100 days in office... Sure Bush often stumbled in his speeches, but atleast we knew it was him and not the
TOTUS. Atleast Bush had honor and dignity.... He didnt give a VIDEO collection to a foreign head of state!!!! (that wouldnt play back in their country. From Rush;

...what do you think the gift Obama gave Gordon Brown is? It's a traditional thing. The first time the leader of a country shows up, you give them a gift. Let me first tell you what Gordon Brown's gift was. "Mr Brown's gifts," there were three, "included an ornamental desk pen holder made from the oak timbers of Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, once named HMS President. Mr Obama was so delighted he has already put it in pride of place in the Oval Office on the Resolute Desk which was carved from timbers of Gannet's sister ship, HMS Resolute.

"Another treasure given to the US President was the framed commission for HMS Resolute, a vessel that came to symbolise Anglo-US peace when it was saved from ice packs by Americans and given to Queen Victoria. Finally, Mr Brown gave a first edition set of the seven-volume classic biography of Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert." Now, this pen set, this pen set contains wood from the ship that Obama's desk in the Oval Office is made of. These are well-thought-out gifts given with tremendous respect. Do you know what Obama gave Gordon Brown? Twenty-five DVDs of classic American films. Not even Blu-ray, standard definition DVDs that Gordon Brown could have purchased on Amazon or Barnes & Noble or anywhere, if he had any desire to see them.
Wow... What a winner we have in the whitehouse.... So I get up and go into "my room" like a good boy and surf the web...

A Man and his castle...

You would think that the primary breadwinner, and the person most likely to go postal in a household, would being able to set the DVR to record shows he wants to watch and feel safe enough to trust them to be there when he looked for them.

Silly me.

I have two, count them, two DVR's.  One in the family room, and one in the master bedroom.  Yet If I try to record a show I often find that the recording was canceled...  Sorry dad, but I want to watch another show while I record another show I want to watch...  so I canceled yours...  Wife does the same thing.

So now I don't watch much TV...  instead I watch the shows through the net...  on either the network channels or something like Fancast.com or hulu.com...

So if your a big TV exec...  put your full episodes on the net...  I will watch them...  and the way they are set up on the net you can upsale the commercials as I must watch them to move on in the episode!!!

35 bucks is a meal on a shoestring?

Found this lovely article from CBS after reading The Lipstick Republican.

Now perhaps I am low class...  But $35 bucks isn't a shoestring.  Hell I made Dinner last night a lot cheaper than that...  My lovely recipe...  Not exacting, as thats how to make low class food.

1 handful of spaghetti  probably  8 ounces....  (no more than a buck)
1 bottle of ragu or similiar product....  this one spicy italian. (2.50)
1 package of polish kielbasa chopped. (no more than 3 bucks)
1 package of stir fry veggies...  various types up to you mix and match...  Mexi style veggies are nice. (less than 2.50)

Brown Kielbasa, add veggies, then add sauce....  place on top of cooked spaghetti ...

9 buck meal....

can add garlic bread....  cashews in veggies....   serves 4 with leftovers.

Predictions for 2008

1. White Males will be blamed for some social ill before the first day of the year is complete. I will find it and post it as soon as I see it... I will wait until atleast 6am pst to start looking as I will have ton's of stuff to choice from, but I want to try and find something posted/printed/communicated after the the new year.

EDIT: Eh didn't find anything on day one, but didnt look too hard... Check this out... on the 5th this crap was published.

"Barack Obama. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Bill Richardson. The field of minority and female candidates for president has never been so strong. But the question remains: Despite the expected presence of an African- American, a woman, and a Latino, will America in 2008 elect yet another male president of northern European descent?
No one can say for certain, but we hope this streak ends soon, because it's important that America elect its leaders from the full breadth of talent available in its diverse population."

Horseshit!!! I hope we elect the best leader... be he/she whatever. Race and gender have nothing to do with it.

2. Europe will have more riots/culture clash as they reap what the sow.

3. More speed cameras and video cameras will pop up all over America as cities look to find more ways to make revenue.

4. I will continue to see shopping carts abandoned along the road from my house to the local supermarket. My house is 1.5 miles from the supermarket and uncivilized people continue to shop at the store then push the cart all the way home, then abandon it. Photos to come.

5. Global warming alarmists will lose ground as they realize that the Earth is a large closed system with mechanisms to control its weather patterns.

6. Pittsburgh will win superbowl 42. Err, make that 43.

7. The area around San Francisco (imagine a large circle from the city of Napa to Santa Cruz) will leave the union and the union doesnt care. In fact the Union asks Vermont to join them.

8. States that inact and enforce immigration laws like Arizona will see less illegal immigrants. Those who continue to be open border advocates will see more illegal immigrants.

9. Miley Cyrus won't be another Spears or Lohan... Atleast not in 2008

10. I'll be back here same time next year, guessing what will happen in 2009.

Let the Games begin!!! 2008 Here we come!!!

Age discrimination!!!!!

... old people are protectedin the workplace!!!! someone send Me-shawn, I mean Keyshawn a lawyer....

"We appreciated the contribution of Keyshawn in his season with the Panthers," coach John Fox said. "He brought us high production, but at this time, we are in a situation in which we have a number of young receivers and thought this was the right time to make the decision."

Sounds like he is being dropped for Younger people!!!!!

Numerous calls placed to Johnson on Tuesday were not returned. Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said he had a couple of phone conversations with him.

"I think all you have to do is look at the timing of this decision to figure out that there was nothing more to this than the fact we made the commitment to develop our younger wide receivers," Hurney said. "The decision was made that we had a big enough group of young wide receivers that we were going to commit in that direction."

Sheeesh, the coach and the general manager both set up the lawsuit..... Why was he let go? Because he was old....

I hate keyshawn.... but sue them baby sue them.

Life

Well it is now Sept. 5th (very early, just about 0003 hrs.) Just booked a room at cliffrose lodge and gardens... Its at the main entrance to Zion. The kids should enjoy it, not sure about the wife.

Temperatures seem to be about 10 degree's cooler than here, so its still going to be hot. Just one day, about 150 bucks. I Couldn't afford to go any cheaper or wait untl we got there because I have to do some work for my Company and I must have internet access. (wireless at that).

Yecenia worked today and made triple time.

I took the kids up to my parents, then took them all out to eat. Took an extra Half hour to get home, Labor day traffic.

Kittens are getting bigger, they are playing at my feet at the moment.

Kitchen is still clean after I cleaned it.... Walls, cubbards, counters, dishes, floor. ceiling fan....

Life 8-17-06

Since I didn't mention it before here (the one concerned person emailed me thanks Mary!) My wife is fine. Both sets of tests came back and she is taking medication to fix those issues and wont be leaving this mortal plane anytime soon.

I told the wife she would have to get with the neighbors and their contractor to get a quote and get back with me. She seems to be running from that. We shall see how long it takes her to get this done. Sreange thing about Yecenia is that she is worried about the cost of the wall. Strange because she is a woman. Most women want the best regardless of the cost. She is trying to find ways of spending less by having less of a wall, etc etc. I told her that we have to think of two things. First is resell. Do we build something that is weird and unattractive to buyers just to save a buck now? Then do we build a half brick have metal wall on the slope on both the side and back. My major hangup on that is that it takes away from our privacy. Alas we shall see. Anyone have spare change? You can send it here!!! Really. I will send you a picture of your wall!

Back to work tonight. Still waiting fir my nbew schedule.

Here is the fun idea of the week. Wife tells me about wall. I tell wife of cost. She then mentions how we wont be taking a trip at the beginning of next month because of the expense so instead we can paint our living room. Woohoo. That sure sounds like fun to me. Sorry Zion, Not this year unless I convince the wife we can afford to do both and paint the livingroom.
